- Wouter van Stuyvenberg - Wouter’s journey to Seable&Co. wasn’t exactly traditional — but it’s one that’s shaped by craftsmanship, creativity, and an enduring love for life on the water.
“Sailing started as a hobby but quickly became a lifelong passion — and even a way of life.”
Growing up in a family with a horticultural business, Wouter was surrounded by hands-on work and entrepreneurial spirit. His weekends were spent sailing the Dutch waterways with his family, often combining the sport with scuba diving adventures. These early experiences built the foundation for his future: a career deeply connected to water, design, and precision.
Before entering the yacht world, Wouter trained and worked as a chef in top-tier kitchens — including Michelin-starred restaurants and luxury hotels around the world. The discipline and eye for detail he developed there still guide his work today.
Later, he pursued a degree in business administration and founded his own furniture-making company. The business thrived, delivering bespoke furniture and timber-frame constructions. But physical strain led him to seek a new challenge — one where he could combine technical skill with creativity, without the heavy lifting.
What attracted him most to the yacht-building industry was its enduring commitment to true artisanship. While many sectors are becoming increasingly automated and knowledge is being lost, the superyacht world remains a space where passionate experts refuse to settle for anything less than excellence.
Today, Wouter is a Design & Proposal Engineer at Seable&Co, where he handles incoming project requests and advises on materials, construction methods, and technical details. His experience in furniture design gives him a sharp eye for quality and innovation — qualities that are essential in the ever-evolving world of yacht design.
He works closely with shipyards, suppliers, architects, and owners' teams to ensure that projects are technically sound from day one. It's about more than just furniture — it’s about helping all stakeholders align toward a shared vision.
“Every project brings something new — whether it’s aluminium, timber, or even 3D-printed elements. Staying curious is part of the job.”
Wouter sees huge potential in transforming exterior yacht spaces into multifunctional experiences. One of his most exciting current projects is the CineSea: a modular lounge unit that shifts throughout the day from a sunbathing zone to an open-air cinema, a yoga studio, or even a golf simulator.
“Furniture should adapt to its environment — and create memorable experiences, not just serve a function.”
Looking ahead, Wouter hopes to take full ownership of exterior yacht design within Seable&Co. — offering clients a mix of integrated and freestanding solutions that feel just as personal and comfortable as their homes.
“The most rewarding part? Surprising clients with smart, beautiful solutions they didn’t even know they wanted.”
